Trust Your Gut

Years before Elisha developed a severe autoimmune disorder, she had suffered from debilitating Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).  

As a result, she was frequently doubled over with intense, stabbing stomach pain.  She was struggling to effectively manage the symptoms when a friend recommended the book, "Trust Your Gut" by Drs. Gregory Plotnikoff and Mark Weisberg.
This book was revolutionary at the time - discussing how to “retrain” your brain to stop fighting the pain in your body and accept that your body already has the tools it needs.  

Elisha noticed that by practicing the techniques in the book - specifically the Neurohormonal Retraining, she could more effectively manage her IBS symptoms, and as a result, the IBS symptoms would dissipate more quickly.  

This was a few years ago, and her IBS symptoms have now all but disappeared.  
As a testament to the effectiveness of the strategies in this book, Elisha is now able to eat raw cauliflower and broccoli - vegetables that would have previously been off limits - without IBS pain!

While she didn’t know it at the time, the same strategy of acceptance would also be helpful in healing her autoimmune disorder - more to come on that later!
