Years ago when Elisha was suffering from particularly painful Autoimmune flares, she observed that if she spent time in her garden, her Autoimmune symptoms would decrease.
She found that the more time she spent outside- observing the cardinals, Monarch butterflies, and beautiful flowers - the better she felt - both mentally and physically.
Little did she know that while spending time in nature, she was actually supporting her Vagus Nerve and nudging her body out of the Fight/Flight or Freeze response!
As her health improved, she continued to prioritize time in nature as part of her “treatment plan” - another way to calm her brain, body, and self soothe.
Elisha now makes an effort to take a daily 20 - 30 minute walk and observe the beauty of nature around her. When roses are in bloom in her Boston neighborhood, you may spot Elisha pausing to enjoy the sight and scent!
