Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse


What to do with extra avocados that you have sitting around? Turn them into Dark Chocolate Mousse!

If you’re eating a restricted diet (gluten free, dairy free, or vegan), being able to enjoy foods that remind you of your “pre-chronic health” life can be VERY comforting. This dark chocolate mousse satisfies the craving!

Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse


This recipe was adapted from Chocolate Covered Katie.


Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse


2 avocados (ripe, but not overripe!)
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
4 TBSP water (or milk of choice)

Optional add-ins:
1/4 c. chocolate chips - I like the Enjoy life brand (dairy free).
Orange zest (to taste)
Fresh berries (as topping)

Combine all ingredients (except for add-ins) in a blender or food processor.  Blend until well mixed. Feel free to taste “just” to make sure!  Incorporate add-ins (if desired) at the end. Enjoy!
