Autoimmune Disease and Life's Big Moments

A Friend’s Birthday. A Sibling’s Graduation. Life’s Special Moments...

When you’re sick with an autoimmune disease, these events can be a reason to celebrate, OR an uncomfortable time where you feel like you have to minimize your symptoms in order to not detract from someone’s big day.

If you’re like me and you're attending one of these events, and someone asks how you’ve been feeling, you usually don’t want to answer. You probably haven't been feeling great, and going into detail about your health problems isn't exactly a fun topic of conversation!

Another challenge is attempting to make plans.  When you RSVP “YES”, the voice inside your head is wondering, “Is there a maybe option”?  You're worried that you may have to cancel if you're not feeling well, and you don't want to let everyone down. I TOTALLY get it.

Autoimmune changes everything. The semblance of control you “thought” you had is gone.

The truth is, your body is asking for LOVE:

1)   Gut Love by choosing foods to decrease overall inflammation.
2)   Brain Love® through incorporating better boundaries and working through past unresolved grief and trauma.
3)   Vagus Nerve Love (or Brave Science as I call it) to move your body out of Fight, Flight, or Freeze mode.
4)   Self Care - learning to rebuild a sense of trust with ourselves is foundational for health and wellbeing.
5) Mindset - using a kind, compassionate voice with ourselves to help support the body away from the Fight/Flight or Freeze stress response.  Additionally, learning to let go of control and a perfectionist tendencies helps send signal of safety to the body. When the body feels safe, then it can devote resources towards regaining health.

If you'd like to learn MORE information about the framework that has helped myself and my clients, I break it ALL down here in this course, The Autoimmune Reset. In this self-guided course, you will learn steps TODAY that you can take implement the framework into your own life.
